Senators Johnson and Thune
by tdaxp ~ December 15th, 2006
South Dakota is a small state, so to be effective our Congressional delegation needs to work together. Even though they battled for a seat in 2002, Senator Johnson and Senator Thune have put South Dakota first since Thune won the other Senate spot in 2004.
The above photo is from the New York Times (hat-tip to South Dakota Politics), when Johnson and Thune worked together to get South Dakota farmers drought relief. We have been lucky to have both men as Senators.

Hoping Tim Johnson has a full recovery. The vultures are circling, so I hope he's up and at'em soon.

PoliticalCritic,
Thank you for your kind thoughts.
The only name that has been “put forth” is Tom Dachle: [1]
“Should Mr. Johnson resign or die, “the fair, right thing for Governor Rounds to do is appoint a Democrat,” Joy Crane of Sioux Falls said as she sipped a drink in a coffee shop here.
Her specific suggestion, echoed by several Democrats here, for a successor to Mr. Johnson was Tom Daschle, the former senator who was defeated in 2004. In an e-mail message, Mr. Daschle said such a hypothetical was needless; “Tim continues to improve, and we are increasingly optimistic,” he wrote.)”
I hope Tom isn't a vulture.

I thought I was looking at a picture of Jeff Sessions for a sec. I nearly ruined my pants!
Please try not to scare me like that again.

I think Tim is a good lucking guy… I still don't know why CNN chose the ugliest and least-true picture of him imaginable to run with a recent story. [1]
The best pictures I've seen of him come from Crow Creek Tribal Schools [2]
