Tire Slashed
by tdaxp ~ December 20th, 2006
Some months after Lady of tdaxp’s car was ransacked, I had one of my tire’s slashed this morning. I lent my car to someone, and doubtless one of his enemy’s did the deed. Police are helpful but, of course, little will probably come of it.
Events like are why I support CCTV (closed-circuit television) efforts in Britain and elsewhere. Perfect anonymity is great is you are in no way exceptional and/or a criminal. For everyone else, surveillance can help deter crimes & improve the quality of life.

Anon,
My new series, The Wary Guerrilla, is a study to determine to what extent humans are “hard wired” to seek out these sort of network-effects. [1]
In today's post, I tie the question together with terrorism [2] and the search for a “suicide bomber type” [3]

Others leverage network-effects, sounds almost like an urban myth, but then again…

surveillance, like the common padlock, helps to keep 'honest' people 'honest'. neither will ultimately deter a committed criminal, but that is not the goal of such measures.

On the subject of SUB-common criminals, the video for Kos's open thread is high-larious! [1]
