Well, it was part of a stupid joke, so I really didn't think it over until now.

Unfortunately, Tom isn't within a convenient proximity for me to carry out my suggested method of guessing. Now, knowing me, I would assume Tom is a good guy. I will write off Catholicgauze as the sinister one by default (nothing personal).

For whatever reason, the first post gave me impure thoughts about seeing Jim Inhofe in a Borat style beach thong, so that would probably suggest that the later one is the less sinister and, according to my logic, has to be none other than the words of Barnett ol‘ boy.

I could guess by taking each excerpt and comparing it to the hyperlinks that were posted on the top of your article.

...or I could just string up Tom to a chair and throw him in a lake to see whether he floats or not. If not, I would assume he wrote the less sinister sounding of the two, but we would unfortunately be one less geo-strategist.

Sean,

Haha -- good catch (until the day Catholicgauze succumbs to delusions of grandeur ;-) )

Jay,

It's interesting to see the climate change zealots attack. Both Catholicgauze [1] and Sean [2] have issued second posts on the subject.

Jeffrey,

"Sinister"?

[1] http://catholicgauze.blogspot.com/2007/02/ignorance-ultimate-enemy.html
[2] http://www.thomaspmbarnett.com/weblog/2007/02/who_pulled_their_chains.html

As the owner of tens of thousands of shares of ExxMob, I recognize the words for which I paid good money:

climate change
