After a stunningly beautiful day, Lady of tdaxp and I took the city bus from her grandparents home, near Xizhimen Station, to our residence, around China Agricultural University. Bus fare is typically 1 RMB, but the city is encouraging peopel to move to a prepaid scancard system (to make accounting easier and prevent theft, I assume), so if you have a card the fair is .4 RMB. While we ended up taking a taxi the last few blocks between the bus station and the apartment, our exit stop was well within walking distance. Did I mention it was a beautiful day? As we made our way home I looked up, first saw the big dipper, and then the whole Great Bear. All for .4 RMB, or 5 cents. The Great Bear in Beijing. Now that’s a Nickelodeon!
