Excellent movie. Equal parts Godzilla, Lovecraft, Half-Life, and Youtube, all by the producer of LOST. Neat set-up, then terrifying monster chase.
Hopefully the sequel is of the same night, but from the military’s point of view.

Well, I didn't think much of Cloverfield when I first saw the trailer, but the slew of moderately positive reviews and your opinion thrown in may make me give it a look.
Also, Paul Thomas Anderson's There Will be Blood is opening this Friday in Lincoln. Anderson teaming up with Daniel Day-Lewis inherently has to be a masterpiece. I guess that is enough of my shameless plug.

There will be blood strikes me as this year's companion piece to No Country for Old Men (like Deep Impact was the companion to Armageddon, etc). Not that that's a bad thing…
(PS: “There Will Be Blood” is a way-cooler title than “Oil! or — worse — “Teapot Dome Scandal!”
)
