I largely agree.

The question then becomes is it worse to have a uniform set of laws that deny the prohibition against ex post facto, or if it is worse to have an unequal set of laws that occasionalyl deny ex post facto.

I argue the first, though obviously both are bad.</description>

The Sexual Offender Act of 1994 and those like it create highly dubious ex post facto protections through sometimes severe public humiliation.  There are a number of myths related to sex offenders and sexual predation which we should work to debunk -- including the demographics of the offenders and recidivism.</description>
