IE on Vista Dispalys PNG images as Red X’s or Broken Quick Time Icons

How is this even possible?

I found this while trying to run mesh on Ladyof tdaxp’s laptop.. The service is unusable.
Googling for this problem reveals that it’s been appearing for 2 years, it’s a known issue, and Microsoft is doing nothing to help.

In all my years of working with computers, I have never experienced, anything like my upgrade to Vista.
Between the “needy” software looking for upgrades, windows, that become unresponsive, and IE, in the twilight zone, Vista is a battlezone.
I put together an “user” group, so that I could work in a peacefull area, and I ordered, a full XP OS. My old XP, was factory installed.
I don’t know if I will trust anything NEW, from Microsoft. I had heard many persons, speaking badly of Vista, I should have listened.

Beatrice,
I agree that Vista is awful.
Get Windows 7 Release Candidate [1,2]. It’s free for more than a year. It is Vista done right.
