The Adventures of Problem Sleuth

by tdaxp ~ January 6th, 2009

Courtesy of Sinosplice, I need give props to MS Paint Adventures, which is best described as Choose Your Own Adventure crossed with Toothpaste for Dinner. MS Paint Adventures follows (more or less) Problem Sleuth, a wannabe hard-boiled private detective, annoyed by his neighbors and seemingly trapped in his own office.

MS Paint Adventures is inspired by Infocom games, and the faux-interface reminds me especially of Return to Zork. But the “game” is strictly linear, with only one option per frame. Check it out!

    Glad you like it!

There are actually a few places where you have a choice. But very few! The other (non-PS) adventures offer more choices, I hear.

LOL! I just got to one of the “choices”

    The consequences:

The window loses it’s extra-dimensional portal properties, and severs you mid-way through. You are dead.

    < - Go back.

    Very funny!

Heh, yeah, the choices are few and far between. And when you do have a choice, the second one seems to always be, “no wait, don’t do that.”

    Quite the choice!

I see the same artist also wrote Bard Quest [1] and Jail Break [2]… After I finish Problem Sleuth, I will have to begin those…
