  1. Quick question

If climate change turns out to be a “useful” lie, than why does it seem like you are trying so hard to expose it as such?

I mean, the more you write about it being as such, the more you are contributing to the undermining of its influence.

In other words, if a lie is useful, why would you expose it for what it is?

Because truth is more important than utility.

I had a pro-Russian (both in his public stances, as well, I suspect, as potential source of income) blogger wave a job opportunity in front of my face to get me to shut up during Russia’s invasion of Georgia. I choose truth over utility there. I’m doing it again here.

    How’s so?

Difference being that taking the job would have been selfish utilization because your incentive would have been income.

However, the incentive for supposed “lying” in the case of climate change is more noble, according to how you have framed it so far.

Or maybe, since you are a harbinger of truth, I would assume that you would advocate the powers that be in Europe to break their alliance with the environmentalist by taking a public position of denying global warming, even if it would give Russia the upper hand in the energy market. Am I right?

    It’s a moral judgment.

Negative. Likewise, I try to avoid hurting people, but I am in favor of the democracies in Europe maintaining armies whose function is to hurt people to achieve political ends.
