The Obama Economy

by tdaxp ~ February 8th, 2010

The common theme of this video and this news

… is that powerful people are taking our country away from us. Whether it’s Tim Geithner’s friends looting the Treasury, or the Obama White House claiming that it has the exclusive right to license public domain images, the arrogance of power coming from the White House and Treasury Department is awful.

“or the Obama White House claiming that it has the exclusive right to license public domain images”

I think you need to back up on that accusation. Obama did ask a coat manufacturer to not use his likeness in that he said it suggested that it had his endorsement (and a similar situation happened with his wife and PETA), but I don’t recall him or her even remotely suggesting that these entities are bound by law to seek approval from them.

    Jeffrey,

    Thanks for the comment.

If you read the story, that is exactly what the White House is claiming.

This is not a pattern that was typical of Obama before. This is part of the Arrogance of Power — he’s out of touch (not as an insult, but as a fact. The reason a Senator needs to shout at his aids [1] is that Obama is working in a protective cocoon of flattery). This recent news is just a relatively minor example of the overall trend.

The correct action for us people is to plaster the flickr images over our blogs as an ef-ewe for this false claim by POTUS.

Perhaps history will prove us wrong, and this is all a complicated plot by Obama to expose his enemies, but the simplest explanation for his Administration’s increasingly bizarre behavior is that it is stuck in its own OODA loop.

This is good for the opposition, both loyal and not.
