Hen Qing

Today was hen qing, very clear. In fact, it was the clearest day I have experienced in Beijing. Climbed up the Fragrant Hills the long way, taking four hours to go from the base, to one peak, then another, and finally back down. When we got to a tobacco-and-liquor store the clerk did not believe our adventures (which involved locating a ruin, a fire observatory, and this gateway)

However, the physical exertion, combined with jetlag, let to a good deal of afternoon and evening sleep, which ends up making the time differential even stranger. Still, glad I saw the most beautiful view of Beijing yet!
