Unfriendly Interviews

The news these days is more enjoyable if you imagine that Jay Leno is running for Senate in Massachusetts and Martha Coakley is trying to steal the Tonight Show from Conan O’Brien.

  1. I guess I’m on Team CoCo, but I have felt that both the Tonight Show and the Jay Leno Show aren’t all that funny. Letterman has always been my man.

Lets just hope NBC isn’t “Too Big Too Fail.”

  2. Jay Leno = the perfect story of boomer greed and tone-deaf entitlement.

Seriously, how different is this story from the bailouts? Aging, unfunny, and nearly retired performer is handsomely rewarded for his massive failure at prime-time. And regardless of any ethical (or contractual) obligations, the unfunny and nearly retired performer is given whatever he wants – his old job – without any concern for how badly the show has been damaged in the process or who will host (or watch) it in the future.

  3. Tim & Tyler,

Lets just hope NBC isn’t “Too Big Too Fail.”

Seriously, how different is this story from the bailouts?

I was about to laugh, until I realized its beyond similarity. Paulson and Geithner have already decreed that NBC is too big to fail.

The only reason GE is not bankrupt is because of USGOV’s backstops of GE Financial’s brain-dead speculation.

  4. I liked the old Conan show and early Letterman, but both have gone stale. If I am going to watch an after hours show it will be Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld on Fox News Channel or maybe even the Late Show with Craig Ferguson.

I miss the Late Show with Craig Kilbourn. That was my show. What happened to Craigers?
